They will write stories about this year. And we could call it that: one big story of triumph and tribulation, where we learned that our demons didn't need to take up as much room in our lives. We could learn to live with them alongside us, but we still jumped when we saw them in the mirror. And it's for the better, at the end of it all. We flipped coins in the air this year hoping for a sign from the universe. Asking our ancestors to guide our footsteps around uncertainty - but knew what we wanted before the coin hit the ground. And so we cried and grew like sunflowers in the rain, gathered together on the brightest of days in eachother's solace, reminded ourselves to feel and not to forget to really be present when the beat switches - this is what life is really like and it's real and raw and doesn't need to be imitated. It just needs to be lived.
These songs aren't just songs that we revisited this year when everything else seemed uncertain, they were songs that reminded us the ground was beneath us, that we could still feel and be okay tomorrow. We left things behind and they left us here with small remnants that they planted in us. In no particular order, we lost: loved ones, family, friends, our patience, our innocence, our temper, and so much more, but we gained so much - our ability to deal with the loss, to welcome it like an old friend and remember that nothing that is lost has to be gone forever. We bloom, we bloom, we bloom.
We have small reminders left within these songs, they guided us back home and reminded us that we have more to learn, we have more to see, we have more to...
